What is the standard procedure for testing fire cylinders? According to the Technical Regulations of Gas Cylinder Safety, fire cylinders (HFC-227EA, high-pressure CO2, ig541) should be tested and filled regularly. Fire cylinders should be tested every 3 years, and nitrogen cylinders should be tested every 5 years. Fire cylinders are high-pressure vessels, and in recent years, there are often injuries caused by random discarding of abandoned gas cylinders, as well as gas cylinder cracking caused by improper gas transportation, casualties and other news. Fire cylinder testing needs to be performed by a professional manufacturer that is qualified for cylinder testing and filling.
According to the Regulations of Gas Cylinder Safety Technical Supervision issued by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, it is clearly required that fire cylinder must be tested regularly, once every three years, and nitrogen cylinder must be tested once every five years. The rules are as follows:
7.4.1 Inspection cycle of all types of gas cylinders
The inspection period of the gas cylinder shall not exceed the provisions of this Article.
Article 7.4.1.1 states that steel seamless gas cylinders, steel welded gas cylinders, aluminum alloy seamless gas cylinders:
(1) Gas cylinders containing nitrogen, sulfur hexafluoride, inert gas and non-corrosive high-purity gas with purity greater than or equal to 99.999% shall be inspected once every 5 years;
(2) Gas cylinders containing gases with high corrosion effect on cylinder materials, submersible gas cylinders and gas cylinders often in contact with seawater shall be inspected once every two years;
(3) Gas cylinders containing other gases shall be inspected once every three years.
As can be seen from some fire cylinder cracking accidents, when there are problems such as filling fake agents, cylinder wall is not thick, water content of the agent is too high, bottle wall corrosion, etc., if regular testing is conducted every three years according to the standard, internal corrosion and external corrosion can be found in time to avoid accidents. Fire cylinder cracking accident needs to be paid attention to, the use of units should strengthen the fire safety inspection, strictly abide by the rules for regular fire cylinder testing, which is not only in the protection of your protection area, but also a social responsibility.
